another challenge at the light............

o.k. i pull up to a stop light right behind a mercury maurader. light turns green and he gases it and so do i. i was on his a$$ till about 70 mph and then let off. i kept jabbing throttle and letting off the whole time. if i held it down to floor i would have rearended him. and i though my auto max was slow, but not as slow as that mercury......

They run mid-low 15's, but they suck off the line due to the DOHC not having very good low end tq. The automatic also is nice and lazy on the up and downshifts. The Crown Vic with the sport package that has the SOHC 4.6L (231hp) and 3.55 gears is nearly as fast and about $10k less.

first of all its grand PRIX, second of all i think you mean the gtp's.... i think they have 260 hp and 280 torque, dont come in manual, only reg auto and "tapshift" (tiptronic) which works through paddles

NT2SHBBY...couldnt agree more, I hate Pontiac/Chevy (nonexistent) quality. I would like to see some 4.30 gears on that Marauder though! That will wake that car right up.

I would never think of buying one, I was curious as to what kind of times they would run. Also, comparing one to a 2k2 6-spd, would it be a drivers race?

It really needs forced induction to make it fast, same with the 96-2001 Mustang Cobra's. I'm surw with a shift kit, some decent tires, and gear that it would pull some mid 14's though.

You ever see the Marauder-S?

460hp @ 6200rpm
450tq @ 4800 rpm
0-60 mph = 4.5 sec (vs. 7.5 stock)
1/4 mile = 13.1 @ 108mph (vs. 15.5 @ 91mph stock)

All that with a curb weight of 4300 llbs. It's basically a cheaper version of the E55 if you ask me.
