Got my car back from Star Nissan today after they said my new radio was in (left speakers cut-out). Took my car in today morning for them to install it. Got a call from my service advisor telling me my car was ready but they ordered the wrong part number and I need to come back when the new part comes in. Go to get my car, notice car is backed very close to a concrete wall on the side of the service center. I bring the car home and look at the rear bumper. The idiots backed the car into the wall putting little holes all over the rear bumper. Not only that, they put my original radio back in and dented the whole radio up...The top part of the radio where it meets the vents is all bent up....

DO NOT EVER GO TO STAR NISSAN!! I had a better time with Koeppel. Never should have switched.

Attached is a picture of the damage. It's little but a lot to me since I haven't gotten a single scratch.

question, when your car get returned, a service advisor is supposed to go around the car to authorize your acceptance as to how it was returned. you have to sign a slip. did they not give you a slip. did they even look at the car in the first place.

also, if you think koeppel was good, think again, i went 3 times cause i was having a clutch problem. they said they didn't feel a thing after testing it and "going over" the car. everything checked out fine. finally i decided to look at it. as soon asi opened the hood, i saw it. i had some slack on my 0awg power wire for my system and it had fallen between the cable linkage. i moved it and the problem was fixed immediately. talk about goin over the car.

anywayz, a good suggestion. i bought my car at nemet on 148th and hillside. i had a tsb done there. although he was quite picky as to approving the tsb w/out proof (which is acceptable, why accept a tsb if you don't have the paper to prove it) when i finally did prove it, he took care of me and the car was taken care of. wasn't too bad. i'll be taking it back to them. the ONLY reason i had taken it to koeppel was cause it's 5 minutes away, but i'd rather take the 20 minute trip to nemet.

Star Nissan was bad with me. The salesmen were terrible, talking to me and my dad in chinese. Thinking we were countrymen, you think we were going to be taken in by these guys? They wanted me to pay premium $$ for my max. Left there and went to Beiner. Got an incredible deal there. I guess its different from others.

No one comes out with you to get the car. They tell you where it is and you pick it up and leave. I should have checked it there and complained. Decided to leave it. It's bound to happen in NY anyway. Tonight some lady backed up into my car pulling into a parking space big enough for an SUV. I don't think I'll ever go back to a dealer again after I get my radio unless something major needs to be done. Learned my lesson. Now my baby is all scratched up and I didn't do it. Oh well.

Macalert,

I bought my car from Star and took it to the service center when they were located at 64th haven't been to the location near northern blvd Won't go back if I have my way. I know your pain.

I've had many hard times with them. I tried to get them to adopt the policy where they walk around the car with you and mark off scratches on piece of paper, the car came for service with, they said nope. Parking the car on the street works well for them, that scratch was there or someone scratched it while parking we are not responsible.

Polo,

Which Nemet do you go to? Is it the one on Hillside?

I've given up finding a service center I can have a good rapor with

yeah, 148th and hillside
they're supposedly the largest nissan dealer in NYC...i can't really compare service since i've only been to koeppel and nemet, but that one time i was at nemet, the service advisor was pretty nice. again, everyone's gonna be a PITA when it comes to any work that is warranty covered because they want to be 100% sure. but after all is said, proven, and done, they took care of me. i'm taking it back for the rattle during startup tsb. let's see how they keep up to their reputation.

another thing to note, although i don't know how others lookat it. i made an appointment for the rattle tsb last week. i have to wait till next week. that's how packed they are for scheduling. dunno if that means they get a lot of return business or they're just slow. things should have slowed down by now.

Star nissan dented my front-right fender and the manager told me that it wasn't his responsibility and wasn't gonna do anything about it.

Wow, thats some horrible stuff. I went to Legend Nissan in Syosset, they're overpriced...

I've been to Amity Nissan in Massapequa... Salesmen there are scum, cars are in bad shape... but service seems to be good. They're replacing my Bose HU for the same speaker problem mentioned above. They ordered the part and will replace under warranty.

They were supose to fix the hood shake. They did something, but its not totally fixed... is there any way to get it totally fixed??? I'm goingto ask again when time comes to fix HU

Also had Star Nissan check for the wind noise and the hesitation. For wind noise, they said their techs did not hear anything. On my way home the first time, I hear the wind noise. For the hesitation, they said they could not reproduce it but it somehow went away. Service advisors are nice people, but the techs are horrible. The park the car ON the sidewalk and drive off the curb!! It was ridiculous...
