I either recieved a bad rendition of a previously reliable vehicle, or spent to much money on a good idea(conceptually). I only have 41000 miles on my car and have been in line at a service center or stuck driving my wifes Civic Si. Which has never been in the shop. It has not been a good one guys. I have had a lot of fun exchanging ideas but in Dec I will trade her in on an 03' E500. Thanks for a great site! Chris
If I was sharing your mentality, I would be posting...Im getting a Murcielago !

The car will be a lease so I can write it off. No taxes is a good thing. I wrote 3 mortgages, 2 life aps, and will be getting my securities license next month to add to the arsenal. I have a list of 300+ people in my area code, as well as similar #'s in the surrounding counties. Like shooting fish in a barrel. I have a friend who is selling a 97'M3 for $17,000. It's a little to small for my frame, OK it's fat. I have thought about nitrous, but lack of skill and leathat consiquenses keep me from that. The local shops are filled with elitist ****** I refuse to give my money to. The race between my friend was sobering. Well actually all of the races. The IS is a 5 speed, mine an auto. I can get him off the line every time. Then the top of first, he noses me. After that it is over. Third and forth don't pull very hard. I have FSTB, RSB, and a recently remaved Place Racing CAI I removed for a blown MAF to be covered under warranty. Chris

Hey Chris, not to get into your finances too deep, but I'd seriously suggest that you first save up the money for a decent downpayment (or are you leasing the new E?), rather than rely on completing 2 mortgages for the next TWENTY weeks! That's a long streak, and I'm not in the business, but 2 mortgages a week for that long seems like a hard task to accomplish.

Anyhow, that's just my suggestion, and that's what I would do in your place. However, if you're confident enough that you won't **** yourself over, then go ahead and make the purchase if you decide on the E500.

By the way, for the price of the E500, you can probably pick up a new 540i sport (w/6 sp if you prefer, or auto). I think that's a tighter car overall--more of a driver's car if you will (Benzes have too many computers, and the driver-car connection is not as defined).
I will be visiting BMW this Sat. You never know. I remain open to a life altering experience. Chris

It's good to think BIG as well as positively. A person won't accomplish anithing great by thinking small and negatively. I hopr that if you want the new Lambo, you will think you can do it, and have a plan to get there. Your Maxima would kill mine, but I would rather you pass me in a brand new Lamborgini!

I started about 1-1/2 yrs ago. Last week I submitted $250,000 and had one life sale. Both were done in about 3-4 hrs on Sat morning. I will at a minimum write 2-3 a week. Many people say that I have no clue what sales are about. However, I made more on Sat. than they made all week. I already have 2 more clients that have solicited me for a refinance and the new week hasn't even started. I do, however, find that most of the people that talk like that are, a: unhappy with their commission, b: unhappy with the inferior products they sell, c: had to give up on some of their dreams because of a & b. I will succeed. I will do better than last year and even better the next. The E500 will be one of my first statements. The next will be an SL65 AMG. I only hope that you all get better every year and make your dreams into reality. Whatever shape, color, or model. I also hope that everyone on this board is mindful of the things they do today and how it will effect next year. This is way off topic. The point is: if I don't ever try for better, nothing will get better. All brands of cars have their faults. I will be experiencing the Benz way of life by preference. BTW, if it takes 40 months instead of 20, I don't really care, as long as I do it. Thanks to everyone who has added to this topic. Chris
