tsb = ntb03-023 ( Lack Of Power)
My local dealer did not know or have ANYTHING on the lack of power or hesitation TSB's until they heard from me. Took car today and the consult-II confirmed that my ECM part# called for the new MAF(22680-AM600 ordered) and the ECM reprogram. They didn't even have the new CD with the new software on it till I told them I wanted it done. The first dealer I called said THEY would have to confirm the problem before it could be done, but my local dealer (smaller) took MY word for confirmation of the problem(great)! MAF should be here Monday and plan on install & reprogram Mon. or Tue. My car is 2002 auto, build date of 09/01 and my old MAF part# is 22680-6N200. I'll let you know the results.

FYI, they can download the latest TSB for the Consult off the internet from corporate. They shouldn't have to wait on a CD.

I brought my car in on tues., with getting the tsb done. I was going to bring in the tsb but decided to see what they would do. I went in and said i had lack of power when accelerating. I also said i almost got rear-end from trying to overtake someone cause the car did not accelerate. So i left the car there and went home w/o mentioning the tsb. Later they called me back and asked if I used premium gasoline. I said yup. At this point i knew they knew about the tsb! Then they told me they had to order a maf and reflash the computer. I was so happy! When I went to pick up my car she said that their is "documentation" on the problem i was having and it was a good thing that i had warrarnty cause the "air meter" alone cost $800.
I'm very happy with my dealer "Nissan World of Red Bank." They are very concerned with the surveys that get mailed out and the customer service is fantastic.
Sorry for the long post!

I still can't get my dealer to even call me back on the issue, and I actually drove their tech around and he witnessed the problem firsthand! Sometimes I really hate Nissan.
OK, a thought...
If I take the car to an Infiniti dealership, will they still be able to work on the car and find all the TSB's and such? They are the same company, after all.

TSB DONE TODAY!
I got the new MAF (just the sensor, they left the old tube in-place, anyone of you guys notice that you got new SENSOR only) and reprogram today. Long story short, GET IT DONE. Keep looking till you find a dealer that will do it because the changes in the power curve are like night and day. This TSB is worth driving 150 or 200 miles easy, just to find a good dealer!

i believe a moderator has put that there for one reason or another. I think that they are only the ones that can take it off or it goes aways after a certain amounts of posts or days. That i'm really not sure of

I think I've asked this before, but I never got a clear explanation. WHAT IS THIS HESITATION/LAG ALL ABOUT? Is this for auto or 6sp Maximas, or both?
What kind of delay are we talking about here? How do I test for this? I'm taking my Max in this Wed. to get the front driver's side window fixed, so if I need anything else done, I'm not going to be leaving from there until it's all done.
Thanks

Stomp on the pedal and if the car takes off with no hesitation, its fine...the hesitation is when you stomp and there is a moment of silence when nothing happens and the car goes nowhere, but all of a sudden takes off after a couple of secs...
thats ur hesitation

However, if I'm in the right gear (2-3k rpms), and mash the gas, it goes...!!!
Should I have the stealership check my MAF part # anyway?

i never actually felt the lack of power, well maybe twice but it could of been the tcs. don't really know for sure. I am going to get it done tommorrow because i wanted the new maf (i had the old part #) and to get my ecm up to date.
