Hey Max ppl... Has anyone changed their MAF before? Currently I have 30,000 miles and its been stalling everytime I come to a stop, the rev meter goes below .5 and just stalls. Can someone tell me whats the problem? Its very annoying everytime I come to a complete stop. Thanks guyz..

It could be a dirt throttle body too.. Any cel lights or anything?

the throttle body can get dirty and struggle to provide air so the car will idle funny and can even stall. i doubt at 30k that the tb is an issue however its possible. if the maf starts acting up, normally it throws a check engine light. i would check for vacuum leaks anywhere even though its a big one if its stalling.

 

Ooh I see.. so would it be the MAF problem also?

 

if the light is not on, then i doubt its the maf unless its just starting to die before it completely goes out. check out motorvate.ca for instructions on cleaning the throttle body with a wealth of other information.

 

I have had the exact same problem in the past. Here is the fix. Remove the MAF and clean it with some Elecrto Clean. This stuff is great. It will not damage your electronics and doesn't leave a residue.

my maf went bad this week and never bew a code or the ses light. I had same probems as you and then a few more. May be worth buying one and throwing it in and clean the tb while everything is off. I threw new plugs in and had my fuel sys cleaned and now runs like a million bucks.
