Can x-drilled rotors be turned?
Can x-drilled rotors be turned?
I installed some cross-drilled stillen rotors awhile back and am just curios what to do when pad replacement time rolls around? Can the rotors be turned or is it time to open my wallet once again?
You really dont want to turn them cause the drill holes wont be as counter-bored now. When that happens the pad can "catch" the size of the drille hole and snap the braking pad off the shim. Dont want that. If the rotor aint that bad, dont turn them. If they are, replace them.

Just slap a set of PBR Metal Masters on and you will be fine. I have the Brembo crossed drilled slotted (from SWA, plug for Alex)on my 94 Altima and love the stopping power compared to stock.
Since you cannot turn/resurface the rotors, the pads just wear out faster. Maybe you get 50-60K miles versus 100K on the Brembo Blanks or OEMs (dependent on your driving habits, of course).

Yes. I turned my front ones about 10K miles ago and slapped on some Axxis ultimates and they have been oh so smooth since. I had the warping issue with the x-drilled rotors, so I guess that means its the way I drive with my hard braking, haha.
I was talking to a guy from Power Stop at a show today and he told me that x-drilled rotors can be turned ONCE and then you need to buy new ones.
Also, has anyone tried Kelsey-Hayes brake pads?
Which pad emit the least amount of black brake dust?
