apexi or k&n filter for my CAI
apexi or k&n filter for my CAI
i have no idea about this stuff...i love the sound i heard off the frankencar site...
just wondering which filter you'd use...the K&N or the apexi...is one louder than the other...more power than other??
just lemme know a brief reason why so next time i dont have to waste server space with this..
i did the search feature so dont post click here and send me a link to search thanks.

well, i dont know if both filters will fit in the wheel well or not but the apexi to me sounds louder at WOT and the KN sounds deeper more grouly.
I got the apexi on right now but I want to put the K&N back on. The KN bigger too.
Which filters had the mafs problem again? Oiled or non oileD?

there have been some failures with apexi as well. some ran k&n beforehand and other it was their first filter. some say there is a less occurence of failure with apexi but if you think about how many more k&n filters people have than apexi, then i would be willing to bet they are closer than some think.
excess vibration could cause MAF failure... but given the high rate of MAF failure even when stock, I think it is a problem with the ECU/MAF connection. Too much current through the MAF element could fry the thing... perhaps the electrical drivers on the ECU are screwy or susceptible to transients when running hard...
I have a 2k and my MAF has never given me any issues... with any type of filter/intake... I've tried almost all setups

so UMD, I have a 2k3 max, so If i went with the Injen CAi (even though it is not as good as WAI) Would it be safer? I really want to get the frankencar w/k&N, but I am still concerned about the failures... advice?
