Super Chip for 00-01 Maximas

I was watching TNN I think this morning, Horsepower TV was on. And I saw a commercial for a superchip machine. I searched for 02 Maxima but unfortunatly they didn't have anything for that, but the website said that it chips 00-01 Maximas which are the 3.0 v6. It shows that it gains +9 bhp. Has anyone ever tried it? and does it really work?. Or is it just a cheap invention like the Tornado filter?http://www.superchips.co.uk/car/frameset.htm

Yea, that would be cool if it worked. If it does then maybe there's a way for it to work also for the 02-3 Maximas. I wonder if anyone has tried it, it seems like it might work.

Oh hell, $400 for 9 horsepower? I'd rather get a y-pipe.

Ohh ok, I never looked at the price. What you could do is get a group deal and talk them down.

Well, that's assuming the chip is for real, which is a long-shot, at best.

the chips just replace Nissan's look-up tables that hold numbers for the ecu to look up such as "at 60 degrees in 55% humidity at 25% throttle, the injectors will spray so much fuel" a performance chip replaces the numbers in the stock tables with new numbers that will make the engine run different. the settings are more aggressive, which will result in poorer fuel economy (which superchips is not concerned with, unlike Nissan) but improved power.
http://auto.howstuffworks.com/fuel-injection5.htm
check out the bottom of that page for a brief summary of how performance chips work. we should email nissanperformancemag.com and get them to install a chip on their '03 3.5 altima. let them spend money and dyno it, if it works, then maybe i'd think about buying one for my car

If it's anything like the chips that they use in bikes, the new fuel map should give you more top end power at the expense of power linearity. You might get dips in the dyno curve that may or may not be that noticeable. On my Duc. it happened at around 5K.

Unfortunately this thread is dead. Maybe someone will read it again after I post.

SuperChips Inc. is not a knock off product like the Tornado and that statement is an insult to their company. At the moment they do not make a SuperChip for the 2002 - 03 5.5 Gen Max 3.5L V6 VQ35DE engine, which is also in the Altima and the 350Z. However, they are discussing it within their company. What we need is enough buzz to get them to start production on it. Myself. I have owned a superchip for a 2002 Ford Escort ZX2. Ok, its a escort, but I got 15 bhp from the thing and in a escort that was alot. I notice tremendous change is speed, take off, and peoples faces when I beat them in an escort. I would immediately buy a SuperChip if it were available for my 5.5 Gen Max.

What is wrong with you man?? This thread is so old it's decomposing...

There are no superchips for our cars. All the "racing chips" are gimmicks.
get a greddy emanage or vafcII...
