Bumper Paint question

i just got a used silver 03 maxima this pass weekend...

How are the bumpers on the 03 Maximas painted..??...i know on my old camry the bumper is plastic rubber and when the paint is scraped off the bumper color is black.....

yesterday someone scraped my rear bumper and paint the size of a dime chipped off....if i used touch up paint on it and than sand it so it will blend in will it be better..??...a body shop won't fix that...only repaint the whole bumper....
anyone had experience with this..??...is it similar to the paint chips on the hood..??
also the paint chips on the hood leaves a kinda of a white colored layer and on the back bumper it leaves a kinda of a black colored layer...

Congrats on your purchase. Not sure on the bumper though.

Yes, pretty sure it's black plastic under the paint (based on some light scratches on my rear bumper). Not sure how great the touch-up paint will look on a chip that big though, even if you sand it...
