Please Help Me! Got a bad ticket in New JErsey

Just got a four point ticket, for crossing a double yellow. I wasnt paying attention and went into the right of the traffic so i could pass them and take a left at the light. I plan to go to court in a month and plead not guilt, talk to the prosecuter, and hopefully get rid of the points, or at least knock it down to two. Anybody else have any advice?
thanks

oh boy...
here is my advice to you
get a ****ing lawyer, asap, and don't waste your time trying to consider it by yourself, a lawyer who represents himself as a fool for a client! You need to seriously reconsider this man... i'm not talking any lawyer, i'm talking about investing in one that is about it... Depending on who you ahve at the momment, shop around... If you really need help, PM me I suppose. I am full of tricks. I can help point u in the right direction.

mjg is right, don't bother trying to contest any traffic infraction without a lawyer. Though the cost for a lawyer may exceed the fine, it still may be cheaper than having to pay the insurance surcharges for the next 3 years.

I totally disagree with this. Every ticket I've ever got was reduced by simply being very polite to the officer, pleading guilty and talking it over with the prosecutor and the cop when the court date came about.

Bringing a lawyer into court for a simple traffic violation is a waste of money. You can usually get any ticket reduced a few points or in some cases just pay a fine. It's all about how you act and react to the situation. Believe me, cops will remember who you are and why they pulled you over so it's best to give him a lot of respect when your pulled. That will help you big time when court time comes along.

Check your PM man. I'm a Legal Services Broker and I help families and individuals gain access to Top Attorneys and Law Firms in your state and across the country. Basically legal insurance and with our service you can have an attorney represent you in court and NOT have to pay the big attorney fees and you are protected nationwide. The service is worth every penny and very affordable. Pay a low monthly fee and have any kind of legal issue taken care of or at a very reduced rate. Check my webpage and PM me back. This will help you now AND down the road.

See that's funny, this is why I usually don't get tickets, and you do?
I will agree to disagree with you, but don't tell the man not to get a lawyer, that is plain retarded advice. My father is an attorney, and I have been involved in, and around situations like this for my driving career. My last 3 threes are squeaky clean, and I have just as much behind the wheel as the next guy. What does showing the cop lots of respect mean? What on earth does this have to do with his day in court, since he got the ticket already. The damage is done, now he is on 'damage control'. WHy on earth would a lawyer screw things up? Welcome to america, either you have a lawyer, or u get ****ed. Furthermore, the cop won't even show up in court... When do you think cops take time out from their busy schedule to come see a stupid speeding ticket, when they do that all day?

The cop that busted me showed up in court!! The question is how much money are going to pay to have a lawyer be there for you. If you have access to one, great!! Most people do not. I challenge any attorney or law firm to provide the coverage we do for the price we do and you still be considered that law firm or attorneys top client. Not whoring just stating the facts!! Listen to mjg. Using attorneys just makes common sense, but if you can't afford one what do you do? All I can say is I'm protected nationwide and I have access to Top Law Firms and attorneys in every state and in Canada.
