None! This car comes with everything, we got the best bang for the buck so let's keep it as it is. I would rather buy a better car, than spending any more money on enhancements/upgrades...

Top 5 Maxima Upgrades / Enhancements
I don't know about the Warpspeed y-pipe. I've heard a lot of complaints about the fitment and service. It's supposedly a pain in the A$$.
Go for rims/tires, intake(Berk Tech), exhaust and y-pipe(Cattman), shocks/struts...mostly performance mods for me...
If you're into performance mods, check out the Berk Technology, Cattman, and Stillen websites. Other than performance, the Stillen front lip looks great. So do clear corners, tint, and angel eyes headlights. CustomEnterprise.com carries a bunch of Max stuff too.
Good luck.

Body kit ? They all look like AZZ, only the Stillen Aero looks pretty decent.
Lights ? what lights ? blue bulbs ?
Subs ? make the car sit low in the rear and rattle like crazy after a few years- extra weight. Supercharger, NOS or turbo is not going to ruin the engine, a body kit and chrome wheels are what kills Maximas.
I seen this Cavalier today, chrome rims, cheap body kit, big azz double decker spoiler, altezza lights, system inside, latin pride on the windshield.... If I see a Maxima with stuff like that I seriously will have my GF grab the wheel, set the car on cruise controll and I will moon the driver out the window. These guys must LIVE n BREATHE , AUTOZONE.

My recommendations are: 1) tinted windows 2) front strut bar / rear sway bar (HUGE improvement in handling) 3) speaker and stereo upgrade (subwoofer a MUST, and it can be done properly without being a "boomer", being too heavy, or rattling) 4) debadging (free) 5) GOOD wheels and tires. These will improve the appearance, handling, and your driving pleasure dramatically at a reasonable cost without negatively impacting gas mileage or reliability in any way. The stereo and wheels will allow you to personalize the vehicle for YOU.

My only appearance upgrade: Nose bra to cover rock chips.
If you can swing a supercharger, do it. I love mine and I didn't have to become a rocket scientist like the turbo guys do. Otherwise, get on the bottle.
After that; decent tires, springs, struts, and a cd of speed metal

I like my heavy *** system in the trunk. Its my choice... Really i dont flame on someones ride unless they have something UNSAFE, or used a magic marker or something. But when I see people flame someones ride, I wonder if its because they are jealous, or can't mind their damn business that I paid my dues to buy this maxima and suit it up the way I FEEL.

Gotta keep the rear end under ya with a RSB, then tighten the front up with a FSTB, follow this all with the dual exhaust, a supercharger from stillen boyz, then a nice UDP, and you have yourself a nice handling full of (more) power 4DSC good for any pimp in a civic or anything else that bothers ya.
what does everyone think about an ignition upgrade. i was cosidering an msd6al w/wires. im on my 3rd maxima and was always pretty satisfied with the stock performance but im ready to get froggy w/ my 2000 as it has just had the warranty expire. thanks
if your in the market for a 5.5 gen and you do get one. these are the modifications i found most impact the vehichles performance:
1) Rear Sway bar. Its amazing how much this improves the handling. I was of the opinion that the car handled good already (as it does compared to my altima) but man, this coupled with my CM fstb,gr2's and maxpseeds WOW, rails!
2)TSB for Sluggish acceleration & SLipping tranny (if auto)
Before the car would go pretty good, then slip like hell and take for ever to climb gears. After the TSB's (both of them) the car is transformed. Rev's faster after it shifts and the slip is gone.
3)Courtesey Ground kit. Beleive it or not, this thing works! Faster starts, smoother idle, more responsive tranny and better throttle response. best $80 spent.
4)Unorthodox racing Ultra S crank pulley. WOW is all i can say. this car picks up much better inbetween gears now and pulls like a raped ape all the way to redline!
5)Injen CAI (w/gen 2 maf adapter) I had the original Injen but sold it. It was ok But i truley fealt a power increase and retained the low end i had lost on the older model. i aquired a new injen CAI and it had the Revised MAF Adapter. it looks like the pic below if your confused as to what im talking about. The original adapter was smooth inside and metal. also the filter is different than my original model. it's smaller.

i have other mods, and they helped too, you can see them on my CD page. but the 5 i listed put the biggest grins on my face. and continue to everytime i hop in!

Not gonna do anything as far as performance...~255hp is plenty enough for me, just K&N panel and maybe a pulley.
RSB/FSTB is a must, upgrade speakers, & maybe tint.
I did mine in this order:
1) Tint
2) Chromed stock Max wheels (look great, only $465 in CA)
3) Eibachs/Tokico Illuminas
4) Changed stock speakers all around, added powered sub
5)
I have an auto SE also, VB option should have gone before

i think as long as you're not into making your whole car shake, the stock bose is fine. i went for the strut and sway bars to keep the torque steer down, and it also makes the engine bay look nicer. for a touch of class, i also got the ae door sills and got hyperwhite lights all around with the clear sides. Also tinted the windows as dark as i legally could for some privacy as well as sun protection. I put in a K&N drop in filter for the slight performance gains as well as for convience. i'm pretty happy with how my car is stock, what with gas price rising, i don't see the need to make my max guzzle more gas. But if you do have the cash to burn, do your entire exhaust as well as put in an intake. the sound is amazing. personally i like the peace and quiet that the stock catback provides.

But that's not Bose' fault.

This is taken right off the site,.....
stock upgrade-Improves shifting to extend tranny life without sacrificing a comfortable ride.
street/strip- greatly quickens 1-2 shift and slightly quickens 2-3 shift to improve tranny life(especially on vehicles with modified engines) Good for everyday driver/weekend racer looking for sreetable performance.
Race-Very hard 1-2 shift. Car will most likly "chirp" wheels under hard accelertation. Hard shifts will be noticed at all times.
The cooler helps to keep the trans. fluid cool, because the Faster shifting generates more heat in the clutch packs of ur auto tranny. We have a small trans. cooler built into our raditors. What they do is tap off the lines. Then put the bigger more efficient cooler somewhere that its gonna pick up cooler outside air. Then they run new lines, and they're done. Altogether my VB mod, cooler, and installation cost $448,and its well worth the money.

Ventvisors (which i think i'm goin to remove soon). Carflector (to protect the hood). Indiglo door sills. AE headlights. And I think thats all.. Not much yet, but gettin there. Net is prolly painting the calipers black. Thinking about the suspension (Tokico's and Eibach springs). Flywheel and UDP also in the back of my mind. And changing all the bulbs soon.
