Wow!!

Well yesterday was a big day for modding my car. I got springs, shocks and UDP installed in the morning and then last evening I installed the Stillen fstb and rsb. The springs/shocks and udp were installed by a local shop, the fstb and rsb were installed by me. I drove the car each time after installing something new to the suspension. I can't wait to get the 18's on my baby. The handeling is so much improved it's unreal. I never thought the Maxima could handle this good, all I can say is WOW!! All three of those mods should be a must for everybody. By far they out shine my performance mods, not to say my Stillen intake, exhaust and udp didn't make noticable gains, but they did nothing compared to the suspension mods. Anyway I'll post pics as soon as I get my computer to load them. Until then take care fellow org members.

Congratulations - happy (and safe) driving.

I'm guessing the FTSB made a huge difference - please elaborate on this, the cost, the ease of installation, the results in your opinion.

Thanks.

Most folks will tell you the rsb makes a bigger difference than the fstb. I haven't taken any hard corners since installing my fstb but you can feel some difference in normal driving. Takes 5-10 minutes to install w/ torque wrench and 14mm socket... depending if you are taking pictures during the install or not.

1) This was bought in a package deal from www.southwestautoworks.com along with the Stillen rsb, rstb, springs/shocks, udp, intake and exhaust. So the excact cost is unknown, but it should be about $150-$170.
2) The installation was a breeze. It took me maybe 20 minutes total time. All it takes is a total of 8 bolts and your done, just make sure that the bar is even on both sides and you'll be fine.
3) Result is this is no doubt the best mod done to the car with the exception of the rsb. The car corners so much faster and smoother, no more of the swaying that's usual in any stock Maxima. I haven't got a good chance to test it yet though since it rained pretty much all day yesterday. Slippery roads are a no, no, with or with out the rsb and fstb. If you got anymore questions feel free to write me back. Look back later today for a more in-depth analysis of these 2 mods.

Congrats! Your next mod should be SFC's (subframe connectors). It will make the body/frame more rigid (increase torsional rigidity) which allow the suspension to function at its peak = better handling!

I was wondering about those. The only website I've seen for them is Warpspeed. They look like crap though. Have you heard much about them or do you have them?

It's on the directions. But here it is anyway 43-58lbs ft for the rings and the bar is 20lbs. You'll love the way the car handles after you install it.

I have all three stages installed, with some modifications. If you use the search function under sfc's, you'll see my posts on the topic. Only Warpspeed makes them for our car, as of my knowledge. I recommend if you decide to get it, go with the stage one first. It is a straight forward installation without complication. You do need to bring the car to a good muffler shop since it needs to be welded onto the frame.

About 40-60 minutes total. For ease remove both rear wheels and put something on the opposite side of the vehicle to help prop the rsb up, it's just easier for you.
