how is the hood not functional?it is open nostrils...so that means more cool outside air into the eigine compartment right? sounds pretty functional to me....i like it...and if i can get into the website (for some reason i cant get in) im buying it....i think the hood and the combat kit will look smoking together

Perhaps if you actually read what I said you wouldn't have gotten sooo defensive. Did they have power, yes. Did I deny that, no. However, that power came in a package that I always found humorous at best.

That hood belongs to one of the members of Double Trouble here in NY... Ive seen that car and hood in person.. IMO it's tooo aggressive looking for the Maxima.. Now it just doesn't even look like a Maxima no more...

Tru Tru,I thought it would look nice but after seeing it in person I really didn't like it that much.

I can't see putting THAT hood on a Max. But someting a little better looking that gives you more room for a FI set up would be worth looking into. If nothing else you could use the incoming air for an intercooler or to cool the engine bay down.
All that said no FI no hood...

I still think the hood needs to be seen from other angles. Imagine a Max like Kloogy's or Emax95's...With a shaven rear, and big mustang pipes coming out the back, the hood would fit right in. It wouldn't look anything like a stock Max, so it would look right. Throw that hood on a Stock Maxima, and it would look weird and out of place. But with the proper modding it can ease itself right in. Set the 3.5VQ up with a Camaro Flowmaster 80series muffler and a big glasspack and you got a big winner in the exhaust sound depo

The Maxima is a family sedan, and a fairly classy one at that. It also happens to perform quite well. I will NEVER see the need to rice it 'down', bastardize it, or whatever anyone else may call doing things to an already fine package (unless enhancements under the skin).

I will never understand why some people didn't just get a Civic, etc., in the first place if they want to do that kind of crap to a car.

Defensive?? I never needed to with my WS6..the pedal spoke for itself... I guess its humorous when a package produces low 13's stock. I also find Ford to be HUMOROUS with their Cobra that runs 12's stock.....Oh, they are so humorous

Why hasn't anyone said (at least not on page 1), that it's not really a WS6 hood?

Looks like a Dennis Mecham / ASC hood off the Grand Prix... and personally I sorta like it, you just need to compliment it with some other general bodywork.

Do you have a fundamental problem reading posts?

I am NOT commenting on performance!! I don't give a crap if a car can do 10's bone stock...if it looks like something out of a cartoon or a Pontiac designer's crack induced vision I don't want it.

well it might perform like a muscle car, but it still looks like a 6 cylinder firebird with a different hood and rims and more exhaust pipes

That hood would look sweet with some louvers all over the car (fenders, doors, trunk) and a giant whale tail on the rear. Throw some 24 inch spinners on all four corners, then convert to dual exhaust so you can have flames shoot out. Wow, what a great car. Oh, sorry, don't forget neon and strobes.

I want pics of the first 5th Gen with Dual exhausts and THIS hood! WILL that ever happen!?

Go to www.sarona.com for more info you lucky bastards.

jjs, NO OFFENSE, but shut up plz.

If one chooses to keep his/her Maxima bone stock... FINE.

If one chooses to add cosmetic mods his/her Maxima... FINE.

You might think I should've bought a Civic but I think my Maxima looks a 100x better with addition of the Stillen Aero bodykit and clears. I've gotten so many comments from people complimenting my car (even babyboomers) and many of them stated that they didn't like how the Maxima looked stock but liked my car because of what I've done to it. It's fine that you don't understand it. But I really cannot imagine why when so many other people do. Perhaps it's just ignorance? Or perhaps you just refuse to?

Either way, I don't see anything wrong with making a "fine package" better. You just keep on truckin' with your orange clears, bud.

Uh, excuse me. Obviously you don't know that this IS a forum and open to opinions, comments, and perspectives. Read through a couple pages of this thread and you will realize I am not alone here. You get favorable comments? GREAT!! There will easily be an equal if not enormous number of individuals who disagree with you, as well.

I find it increasingly interesting how many people who appearance mod their cars seem to NEED attention and acceptance and just cringe with the slightest criticism of their choices. I have sympathy for those who are so insecure that they HAVE to have positive comments of others but want those who don't happen to approve to 'shut up'.

A shame really.

and different body kit, tire size, fog lights. anybody can tell what a trans am looks like and will NEVER mistake it for a v6 one stock vs. stock. the trans am is one bad *** looking car. i wanted it for so long until i grew up and wanted practicality in a car.

Craig why do you do this to yourself? I knew who the thread starter was as soon as I saw the thread, and the reccomendations for an exhaust setup, priceless! Get an LS1 already

The WS6 was one bad@ss aggresive car, Kloogy your max is one of, if not the cleanest that I have seen on the org, but what happened to the WS6?

Don't even tell me you don't think slanted 3.5" x 16" polished tips shooting out the back like on a Mustang/Camaro wouldn't look sick on a Maxima. Becuase you damn well know it would. If I had a 5th Gen it would have been done LONG ago.

Get an LS1 already
I chose the supercharger. Boosted Maxima > LT1 (LS1 not an option, too expensive)

The WS6 was one bad@ss aggresive car, Kloogy your max is one of, if not the cleanest that I have seen on the org, but what happened to the WS6?
The WS6 Ram Air is an amazingly sexy car. It is the most muscular looking car stock out of all production cars IMO. Kloogy got rid of his Trans Am to get a Maxima. He needs to bring some of the muscle back into his life by purchasing this hood and feeding air into his engine, or boost and make the hood act as a cooling agent.

It would look completely ridiculous. Maybe when you become an adult (no offense) you will realize how dumb that would look coming out of the back of a 4 door sedan.

Seriously......this hood, dual exhaust, etc...... are all things that 16 year old kids would think are cool to do to their first car.

Ok...so I guess my car looks dumb and childish huh? So I guess the countless compliments I get from people of ALL ages at gas stations, car dealerships, car shows, meets, ect. should all be disregarded? Or how about the countless looks and thumbsups I get from cars on the road? Or how about the unique sound I get from it? I guess those two guys in their mid 20's who came over to my car at the movie theatre asking me to revv giving me compliments were out of their minds?

You can make fun of duals all you want, but I love them given they be setup properly. My car definatally has the ***** to back them up too. You would definatally be seeing lots of my exhaust if we encountered in a race, until I lost you in the horizon that is.

I did my setup primarily for looks/sound. And I haven't regretted doing it since, not for one second.
