Carpet removal
Carpet removal
To all, I need some help.
I am going to sound insulate the interior floor of my 2K Max and I need directions as to how to remove the interior panels in order to remove the carpet and back seat.
Any directions?
Thanks,
Jack

It's all snap-n-pop... I know that doesn't help much but I don't have pictures made.
1)The side panels that hold the carpet down around the door sills all pop staight up, using a flat-blade screwdriver.
2)The center console goes like this :
a) Remove the panel around the gearshift (one screw in ashtray, pry around shifter with small screwdriver.) This is how an auto goes, I don't have a manual.
b) Remove 5 screws on center console. 2 in front (under shifter panel that you just removed.) 1 under felt piece in middle 'cargo box.' 2 more on the lower rear sides of the console, seen by moving the seats forward (only remove the bigger of the 2 screws.) Remove console and disconnect heated seat switch connectors and 12v accesory plug.
3) Rear seat is a cinch... Look under the front of it, on each side there are 2 plastic "rings" that you pull straight toward the front of the car, then lift the seat up.
4) Driver and passenger seats are easy too, just 4 bolts and 3 connectors each. The yellow one is an SRS connector, so you may want to disconnect battery 30 mins before starting all this. You may have to reset the airbag system after this is all over (the light may blink), I can post that procedure later if you need it (or search!)
5) Carpet is held to frame with the damn plastic connectors, and a panel puller is highly recommended so you don't tear up your hands. Be careful to not pull the staples out of the carpet, be sure you are pulling on the plastic tabs going into the frame.
Rinse... Repeat...
