maybe they do raise your premium, I do not know. Even if they do, the cost to replace the lights and fix damage should be much higher than the cost of the rise.
Insurance is meant to be used. unless you're talkin a small fender bender. Insurance is SUPPOSE to absorb the cost and distribute it over the population. ie: the whole idea behind insurance is to have everyone pay some, so if something bad happens the extreme cost is absorbed by everyone.
From repair costs I've heard on the lights, damage, repaints and installation its 4-5K is that what your insurance is going to go up?

Thanx guys for the information, but you're missing my point.
There are two ways to deal with ins carrier: first - leave your car at the dealer or other garage acceptable by ins, pay deductible and don't care how much it was
second - get appraisal (they go by dealer's prices) and fix your car somewhere else, of course buy parts on your own (on line
) and keep the balance in your pocket (or pay $500) deductible

Sometimes there are 2K2 headlights for sale in the Parts For Sale section of this site.
Check from time to time.
You may have to wait a bit though if you want to save $'s
Also call around to some salvage yards and see whether they have any cars that have what are looking for.
