Injen Noise: "whoosh" @ 2-3rpm

i just had an injen cai installed the other day. i noticed that when i'm accelerating i hear a "whoosh" or whistling sound around 2-3 rpms. is this because i haven't changed from the stock exhaust setup yet? thanks guys.

haha yeah it really does it njmax, I have a stillen intake and it sounds like a turbo when you nail it, sounds like its spooling up, and if you release the gas at the right time it does a pretty loud PSSSHHT, it does turn heads, its pretty funny

I don't think it has anything to do with the exhaust

I had a Frankencar before I switched to the Injen. The FC whistled so loud it annoyed me. The Injen still whistles, but not nearly as loud. The FC sounded more impressive when revving and WOT, and the Injen is more reseverd with a quieter, deeper growl. I prefer the Injen...it looks better, too.

I just had the INjen INtake installed last week. I also get that whistel noise which to me is borderline annoying! My roommates says it sounds like a turbo or super charger but to me it sounds like my brakes are down to the sensor - lol!

It is going to take some getting used ot for me. If I can not take it I am ripping it out! I want the extra boost but I can't take noise! Any other CAI's out there or other alternatives to get some extra horses? I want to add a muffler but I would have to have silencers on it. Any suggestions there also?

I have a 2K1 SE!

thanks ppl : )

that sound of air rushing in is a very nice characteristic of the intake. let the rpm wind down then give it a forceful rev and the whistle can be heard distinctly.

I couldn't stand whistling noise and I went back to stock. Basically, at around 2 to 3k rpm with part throttle the noise was constant and very very annoying.... Right at city cruising speed, with constant whistle.... Annoying...
