Console raddles and bells

Console raddles and bells
After 40k on my 2001 SE, I am getting some rattles and a bell sound in my console between the shifter (automatic) and the radio area when on bumpy roads. When I slap the right or left sides of the plastic console it sounds like there’s an ice cream truck in there.
I want to go in and pad, secure, tie off, whatever is moving around. However, I can’t figure out how these console side panels or whatever come off.
Does anybody know what is removed first and second, etc. and how these parts are removed without destroying them?
Thanks, Bob

Go to this link, http://members.lycos.co.uk/LucyLu112/, download the Body & Trim section, and review for instructions on how to open up the console. Good luck.

Here is another website to take a look at:
http://carstereohelp.com/stereoremovalNisMax3.htm
I know the site is about removing the stereo but the site also shows how to remove the console piece around the shifter.

Bobiam, you probably need the Adobe Acrobat reader to read *.pdf files. You can download the free reader at:
http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep2.html
Hope that works and good luck with downloading the PDF files from the "LucyLu" site.

Yes, I am able to read PDF files with Adobe Acrobat. If you haven't done so already, highlight the Body and Trim hyperlink with your cursor. Right click on your mouse, then "Save As" to your hard drive. If you just click on the link it may not open up (I did this and the file didn't open up).
However, if the above procedure doesn't work, I have saved the Body and Trim file into 70 separate JPG files. You should be able to read them. PM me with your email address and I'll email them to you in a ZIP file. You will want to look at pages 29 through 33. Good luck.
