Could a code be pulled without the SES on?

Hey, I was wondering if there was a way that Autozone would be able to pull a code without the SES light on.

THanks

Yes,

You can even do it yourself. Combination of turns of the ignition and gas pedal presses. I had no SES but a knock sensor go bad before.

So yes, it is very possible. I know that the 2k2/2k3 FAQ on altimas.net has the procedure and it works on Maximas because I've done it on my friend's Maxima.

Turning the ignition and gas pedal presses CLEARS an SES light, so if he doesn't have an SES light that wouldn't be necessary.

I'm sure its possible to pull a code without the SES light on, but why are you thinking there is a code to be pulled if your car's ses light isnt on?

Sometimes the ECU will store a code, but not turn on the light. Its free at autozone, so go do it if you think there is a pending code. Im pretty sure to say that there isnt one.

BTW, have you ever had a petrochemical cleaning?

There is a specific sequence in the FSM that does it. Its real simple, but you have to do it perfectly or else it wont work. You should do this after any power mods. The Ecu takes 100 miles to relearn your driving too.

It cleans the entire engine from carbon deposits. There is a "fog" and a gas treatment.
