New to forum. Great Site.

Hello everyone, just registered for this site. I have been browsing these forums for a while now and there is an incredible amount of information provided by everybody. Your posts have helped me install clear corner lenses, front strut tower bar and a rear anti-sway bar. I'm sure there will be more to come as well.
Thanks

I am interested in adding a few modifications to add some HP and pick-up. Please provide any suggestions you may have.

welcome to the org. for hp and pick up, frankencar mid pipe and intake are good. some people go with the cold air intake for better low end. then you can get a y pipe which has the most bang for you buck....

ok, well seeing as you have a 2k2, i would be against you looking into a y-pipe, as a successfull one hasn't been produced AND they haven't shown to produce much, if any, HP. in other words, it ain't worth it.

to me, one of the better things to replace from your car is the b-pipe. since you prolly have read, you know there are 2 very serious crush points (right after the cat and then after the resonator) that seriously hold back a lot of back pressure, on top of the fact that we're working with 2 or 2.25" piping. i never thought it was a big thing, but last nite i swapped out for a full greddy catback EVO. and wow, i did not realize the difference it would make. before, i would have a steady power up to 2k rpm, and then it would start picking up. now, from about 1500 and up, it's a steady, and faster, increase. the car picks up so much better. if you haven't gotten an intake, i'm happy with my injen, and others are happy with their frankencars, but i'm pretty sure everyone will agree that replacing the b-pipe alone will free up a lot of held up back pressure.

good luck and welcome to the club. do you feel an itch, i think you've been bitten....it's the bug...............the mod bug.

damn i thought warpspeed had one for us. it says with their y+b pipe you get 20hp. thanks for letting me know ahead of time. with the injen do you see a big loss if any for your top end power?

so has been said. a few people have said the y-pipe does little to no effect. the b-pipe alone would be a better buy but AGAIN, there have been issues with the piping banging up against the sides aka not shaped correctly.

the injen works fine for me. i don't see any major loss. i've had it for so long now that i wouldn't be able to give you an honest opinion. i'd be more than happy to swap with a stock 6spd owner and feel the butt dyno differences.

Best 'bang for buck' mod is timing advance

which will range from free to about 35-40 bucks for half-hour of tech work..

Welcome to the Org!
