Taking off stock 2000 Head Unit, Help

I bought one of the PAC AOEM-NIS2 things that hooks up behind the stock head unit and allows you to add another amp to the bose system. I was wondering if anyone could tell me how or tell me a website that will tell me how to take off the headunit, correctly, so i can figure out how to install the PAC AOEM-NIS2 , i hope someone knows what i am talking about, oh well. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

I just did this yesterday. You going to have to tug on the very top a/c vents first untile it snaps out of place. After that the whole climate control/Bose HU comes out as 1. As far as the line converter goes, make sure you solder the level converter really well and rap electrical tape around the wires also. Take your'e time and do it cleanly, you'll be thankfull in the end..

how far have you gotten?
once you remove the a/c vents (you're gonna have to TUG) remove the shifter trim by removing the screw under the ashtray liner and carefully pry up the shifter surround. then you'll see all four screw's you'll need to remove. get ready for some fingertip abuse trying to unclip the harnesses tho, they're tight.

Thanks alot guys, but i don't even have the PAC AOEM yet so i will wait until it comes to rip apart my car. Is it hard to install the part?? I am an amateur at this stuff and was hoping i could do it myself, Is it wise to try the install?

On a 2002 it is pretty easy. The hardest part is the AC vents. Wrap a flathead screw driver in a towel and use it on the side to pry it out. That exposes the screws at the top. Then for the bottom, you have to take out 1 screw from the ashtray out. Then pop the trim up. It is very easy in a manual transmission console.

As for the AOEM-NIS2, it is plug and play. Take out the 2 wiring harnesses that plug into the Bose headunit. Plug them into the PAC adapter. Then plug the 2 harnesses from the PAC adapter into the Bose HU.

Ok, one more question. How would i get the remote turn on/off wire to the amp. Cause the OEM part only has RCA plugs. So do i have to somehow tap one that is allready run??
