Injen Air Intake In The Rain
Injen Air Intake In The Rain
Has anyone had problems with their Injen air intake during heavy rain fall? Today is my first day in NYC with devastating rain fall and I mean it. I saw two cars floating in the rain up half a door.
I was afraid I would get water in the filter. When I got home I opened up the hood and my filter was a tiny bit wet. Little droplets but nothing serious. I wonder if there is a way I can position it better or do something about it.

If cars are floating around and yours is one of them I think the airfilter will be the least of your worries. I have had my injen installed for about 2 months now and have not experienced any problems during rainfall. As long as you are staying out of deep water you'll be fine.

I would not worry about it...my car is lowered pretty far(2 finger gap all the way around) and I have had the injen on for 1 year now with no problems (knock on wood). I live in the south so i am used to big azz rain storms, I have even gone through the car wash with the underbody wash, where it sprays water under the car with no problems. Now if the water is up to your door you can pretty much assume that the filter will get wet...my advice is don't drive through puddles over 4 inches deep.

No problems here either. I've been through some heavy rains as well.
To play it safe, don't go WOT while your driving through heavy rains and puddled roadway. That way your wount be prone to sucking in water if your filter gets splashed. The oil on the element should allow the water to bead off as well.
