Hood Protection & Lawyer Info....

Hi All,
I'm sure somewhere on this site the info. exists, but I must ask this directly... Has anyone installed a bugdeflector from Vent-Shade/Lund? I'd like to install the CF version. I get mixed reports from the Mfr. if "drilling" is required. I would also appreciate other suggestions such as a magnetic hood protector I've heard of, or any other alternative that does not present it's own form of damage.
I also have some great info. to forward to the "chipping paint" litigation lawyers, but no longer find the ability to join the class action on this site. Here's why... My 03' bought in December had the front bumper repainted after my being a real pain in the *** got the dealer to do it to be rid of me. The painting was done in February. At that time there were only 2 chips on the hood surface. Since then they have become numerous on the hood and I have not recieved 1 on the repainted bumper/facia. I'd say this could be an important example between factory and aftermarket paint durability.
I know this ones been beaten to death but I thought it important data that could be of use to us all. Please hook me up with the firm if you know how.

Thank You everyone!

I have the Carflector. Installation is either by double sided tape and/or screws (no need to drill either way). I just used the double sided tape and it's been holding up fine - have had it on for about 1-1/2 years now.

It will not protect against chips however, as you probably know it won't cover much of anything. This is basically a way to minimize bug splatter on your hood and windshield.

If you want front-end protection get the Clear Bra. It costs quite a bit, but it works.

The leading edge of my hood is all that is getting chipped so I think a deflector will work OK. The new paint on the entire bumper (now almost 6 months old) is holding up great! Not one chip!
Who manufactured the carflector you are using? Is it ventshade? Is it taped under the hood or on the paint? Did it interfere with proper closure of the hood?

Thanks...

IIRC, Ventshade makes the Carflector. Bought it on E-Bay for $20 so i really can't go wrong with it

I just used the included double sided tape. One side is starting to peel off however, but the Carflector is held snuggly in place whenever the hood is closed so it's nothing to worry about.

No issues with hood closure whatsoever.

Thanks for the input. I ordered the carbon fiber version on Friday. Thought it would look good against the Titanium Silver paint. I'll post a photo when it's installed.
