I'm not big into visual changes to my automobiles, mostly a performance guy...however, I'm changing my ways when it comes to the rear lights on my Max.

I'll take any and all recommendations to improve the look of the rear lighting cluster. I prefer legal ways, but will take any recommendations. I particularly do not like the contrast between the dark gray frame, the orange brake and driving lights and the white reverse light. Lightening the frame, darkening the lights, making it all one color, any ideas????? How hard is the work, how legal is the result, how much and where are the parts?

Any pictures would help. Thanks in advance folks.

rear lights

I don't have any suggestions for you, but I am surprised at your dislike of the lighting design. Personally, I find it one of the more striking features of the car, and definitely a better variation on the triangular rear lamp treatment than any other make on the road. Good luck, but, maybe give it some time and it will grow on you??? srm

In comparison, I offer up the new Jag sedan with a comparably designed rear light cluster but without the contrast in color between the lights and the frame of the cluster.

Re:the Maxima cluster...I don't hate it...I just think that a change or two could improve it.

Still reaching for suggestions.

There aren't any aftermarket tail light covers for us, so you're pretty much stuck with what you have. Your choices are either the GXE/GLE covers or a custom cover. I don't know what's involved in the customization route... but it's probably very difficult.

I remember having some of my 6th Gen Accord owner friends take a hairdryer to the inside of the covers on the head lights to melt out the colored film on the inside of the glass. Are the Maxima covers colored glass or clear glass with a layer of colored film inside? Anybody know?

Anybody have any opinions on what the frame would look like if it were clear (whited out) instead of smoke gray?
