My wife and I both have a Maxima. Mine is a 1998 GLE and hers a 2000 GLE. I have a AutoXray EZ-Link scanner that will connect with my Max but not hers. The Check Engine is lit on hers. The AutoXray tries to scan selects the ISO protocol delays than states that the vehicle is not responding. The last time we had a Check Engine (4 months ago - bad coil) on her car everthing worked fine.

I removed the battery for 2 hours which reset the Light but I still can not communicate with the ECM and the light is back on.

Has anyone seen this? Any thoughts?? I'm concerned its the ECM and if I go to the dealer they will take me for a ride. Thanks in advance for any help!!!!

 

Check the OBD plug, wires, and cable. Something must have come loose or got bent.
