well, i cant wait for the short shifter to come any longer, im tired of that looong 6 spd stick. anyways, i got a friend that says he has the tools that could cut off the top metal part of the stick, and then modify the plastick piece so it would fit the shorter metal stick. and he also has a tool that cuts the top of the manual so it looks like a screw so u could put the shifter **** on top...

what u guys think..

doable, yeah, sure, why not
i did it on my crx. it did look nicer, did it do the job, kinda, but not what a real STS would do. i guess it's fine as long as you do the Reverse fix and that's it.

 

crazy... when you do that, the lengths of the shifter need to have a certain ratio. it'd be choppy and messy. highly suggest no.

It will also require more effort to shift (no, I am not saying workout difficult) but the laws of physics would make shifting harder. Kind of like pushing a door open from the ****, then trying to push the same door nearer the hinge.

This might not be major, but could get annoying.

 

the problem is, what if you change your mind and it doesn't work so nice?

 

DUH, get another gearbox...

 

uhh no... u just glue the piece u cut off earlier back on...

sigh, so much for my bright ideas.., and i hope whoever makes the short shifter doesnt take advantage of us people and overcharge...since it will be the only one
