Another Audio System complete...pics....

well after much procrastination, i decided to start my project. i took my ghetto-wired system out and decided to make a clean hidden look. this is by no means finished, but it is a work in progress. i wont' explain waht i did, so i'll just show pictures. my setup is listed below in my sig. hope you guys like it. the way it's setup now, i'm getting power. part 2 will make a casing to completely cover the amps, cap, and crossovers, with wood and plexiglass, so that i can still have a functioning trunk.

p.s. it may not be a showoff design, but what i'm proud of is the fact that from the very first wire to the last screw, it was a DIY. me and 2 of my friends took on this long task and promised to not let a shop do it. and we did it.

haha, i know...i was being so lazy.i mean i had it wired, but too lazy to take ti all out again, so this time, i was like fug it, i need to get this done by at least the rutgers meet. so i did. and correction, it's note a 800.4 amp. the setup is

Trunk:
Diamond Audio 1200.1 - 1200 x 1 @ 1 ohm
Diamond Audio 600.2 - 150 x 2 @ 4 ohm (underrated, really pushing 240x2)
Stinger 5-farad Cap

all i know is....this is god....helped out so much on laying down the carpet....

NO! You're useing the 77 3M glue!?

Ive has MUCH MUCH better results with the green bottle. A few more bucks but holds the carpet way better.

What happened to the plexi idea?
And havent you tried on your new shoes?

this was the first and is the LAST time i ever work with 0awg wire. it's such a PITA to work with, it's too thick and so it's flexbility, well, there is NONE!!
next time, i'm just running 3-4awgs.

thanx for the compliments. hopefully, i'll be at the rutgers meet to show it off a bit.

OMFG.. thats what i forgot to do..

I actuall did the EXACT same thign as you and i cut out two pieces of wood shaped like the trunk using the trunk mat..

But when i stuck the wood in, the floor was not level and it was CONCAVE... so what you did was use a wood beam under to make it all level...LOL

I quickly gave up the idea, and sold my digital 1 farad cap, and as of now, my subs and amp is still a mess.. LOL

Thanks for the idea

well, that wood was all i needed. after i made the cut out, the box evened MOST of it out, but it was still concave. i placed the wood beam at the end, so that it would twist, bend, etc... any rca's, power, speaker, wires, etc.... the wood beam also doesn't HAVE to go all the way across. i cut about 6" from each side. what i ALSO did, which helped greatly, was even though the wood pieces fit perfectly, once i carpetted it, it added some thickness to all the edges. when i placed them down, it was a bit too snug, which for me was perfect, so when it flattened, it was extremely secure. this is day 3 with the system, and after driving around manhattan and brooklyn and throughout most of our sinkhole of a city, i'm happy to say i hear no rattle fromt he amprack, all the amps are still secure, teh box has not shifted, and everything in general seems to be bolted down very nicely. i'm happy....i'm very happy....next step, tv's in the headrests

i won't show what's powering all this under the hood or the headunit. those who go to the rutgers meet will see...
