Wheel Alignment

Wheel Alignment
I think I need an alignment, but I was told by two different shops for me to get a proper alignment I need to put the stock wheels back on. Is there any truth to this?
I was always under the impression that once you change the wheels the alignment would be off. I did get one done before I put the new wheels on but I can feel the car pulling to the right side. Also when going straight the steering wheel is a little off to the right.
Any help would be greatly appreciated

If you are talking about open multilane highways, that is a different matter.

Please don't let those shops go anywhere near your car.
Wheels don't effect your alignment settings.
Go find a front end alignment place that will give you a 4 wheel thrust angle alignment. You steering wheel will be perfectly centered after that is performed.
A 4 wheel thrust angle alignemnt sets the front wheels to the same axis as the rear wheels. It's the only way to assure a perfectly centered steering wheel. Expect to pay about $50 bucks.

Not to oversimplify this or ask a silly question, but what kind of roads are you on when this happens? Most 2 lane roads (one each direction) have a crown to them for water runoff which tends to influence movement to the right.
