Spark Plug Gap??

What should the gap be on some new NGKs?

.044" I believe. If you're gapping Platinum plugs, be careful as you can scratch the platinum surface off easily, so I've heard...

These aren't specific to Nissan Maxima, so the gap is probably wrong..

I'm not positive, but all the cars I've ever worked on (Ford Tempo, Mazda 626) all used .044" plug gaps. I guess that's a pretty standard gap for cars?

always check the gap before installing. Even if you get pregapped plugs, which you most likely will, still check the gap to make sure.

the part # of a pregapped plug usually has the gap in it.... i.e., BKR5E-11: the -11 means pregapped to 1.1 mm = .044"
