Stillen Headers
#17
I just want to see half of these people who buy them attempt to install the rear header. That aint no fun, you have to remove the engine mount and mount bracket just to get to the bolts for the last bank.

Just because it's called a GD, doesn't mean it is.

I dont think that we sould blame anyone but Stillen for the prices.
If/when other come out with their headers prices will eventually drop,
especially if they get better gains!
Also remember thet Stillen products are always more expensive then the cometition, whether the product is better or worse.

Stillen prices are high, but everything Stillen makes is quality. They test everything numerous times so fitment is 100% and everything works as it's supposed to. I know when I buy Stillen parts I don't have to worry about fitment or the product not working as it is supposed to.

that is true but sometimes their prices are like double other peoples prices, when the other product is just as good. i haven't bought anything stillen yet so i can't say how good or bad they 1st hand. a good example though is their intake. it has no mid pipe and its $177. frankencar has the midpipe and its around the same price.

I know...I know...just an excuse.
However, UNTIL product is delivered...there is NO SUCH THING as a GD with Stillen. Just some vendor illegally eating shipping costs, which Stillen will find out and put an end to QUICKLY.
Again...a Stillen GD is an oxyMORON.

Steve...you do NOT need to defend Stillen products

People like to gripe over cost...nothing you can say or do will change that. Just sell your parts and IGNORE them.

i talked to stillen yesterday and they said that they headers that they have on the tester car made it EXTREMELY LOUD!!! so they r working on a resonator to add to the setup to make the car sound a lil more tolerable for the ones who gripe about the noise. i told him to send me the one they had i dont care but he said he cant do that
he said within the next few weeks so hopefully they will be out soon.... and FYI stillen is selling the header y-pipe combo for 800-900 doesnt seem like a bad deal to me! i am on the preorder list!! i hope they come out soon!
will

Honestly,
With Nismo available at almost all of the Nissan Dealerships, Nismo might come up with thier own Header?
Stillen has not recieved any competition (not trying to bash the local stores or take credit away from them. * Bought numerous items from Southwest Autoworks ) but with Nismo available in the U.S., it will given Stillen some competition.
Stillen's prices might go down

Nismo will carry nothing for the maxima...and why would stillens prices go down when Nismos will be higher

The whole price might go down remark that I made - is based off of the supply and demand theme.
Nismo has been sold in Japan for a long time. Stillen has been selling in the U.S for a long time as well. Since Nismo is being sold directly into the dealerships, the supply has gone up. More orders, more productions and more clientel. Heck some cars are sold with the nismo package right off of the show room floor.
Honestly, I have checked some of the Nismo pricing and it's up to par with Stillen and some items, if I remeber (Spec V) are actually cheaper than Stillen.
If you count up all of the Nissan Dealerships in the U.S and Nismo supplies less than half of that, that is a good amount of Nismo product coming in.
I have a Stillen FSTB, but the Nismo FSTB(350Z) is not too bad either.
Just my .02 cents
