Hey Y2KSEV!!!!
I just found out what you did, and You did a MUCH BETTER job than me!
How come your lamp is grey? Mine was orange all around so I had to paint it, and it is not too good. Do some have grey and some have orange lamp or what? It is TREMENDOUSLY advantageous if you have the grey one.
Also, I broke off the clear lens too, but you saved it and lifted it in one piece! How did you do that? I tried, but it didn't work.
Anyway, now I know how I can do better next time. I guess there is no need for the lighting panel after all.
Great job man!!
ps: when breaking off the orange cover, I used a needle nosed plier to pluck it off. It works great.

I had to carefully dig around the edges with the small screwdriver you see in the picture. There are 6 points of attachment... two near the skinny tip, two in the middle, and two at the big end. I was patient and didn't rush that step because it's a very crucial step... you break, you buy another one.
Good idea on the needle nose pliers! I'll update the instructions. Thanks!

My nick is pretty simple...
Y2KevSE
Y2 or Y2K = 2000
Kev = Kevin
SE = model of Maxima.
The Y2Kev part beautifully ties in.
