P.S: Sorry about the "No"...I didn't have time to respond better.
Well I wasn't trying to ruffle your feathers if I did. But thank you now. By question has been answered. That was my first run in with that guy so I didn't know his history.

His history ran a very familiar parallel to NTCRAPPY's, whom I'm sure you hold the highest respect for

While I haven't been on much lately, been doing some computer mods instead of Max mods I will not miss all of the rice posts and comments from these 2.

And to be back on topic. Ultra high octane is the less expensive way, or is that "rice way" to avoid detonation at higher levels of boost. The only other way is to lower compression, which usually isn't the best option for several reasons.

Bartender looks at the bear kind of funny and says, "Um, ok, but what's up with the big pause?"

Bear holds his paws up and says, "I'm a bear."

OK, it's funnier when I tell it in person and after a few bears, I mean beers. Just trying to stay with the mandated positive motif.

Or should I say, PAWSotive.

I think I should be going now...
Hey,

Quick, What is the octane level of that bears drink?

Read THIS~~~> http://www.streetrodstuff.com/Articl..._Basics_IV.php

Cooling the combustion chamber temps via intercooler, more efficient charger, nitrous, etc... is more expensive, however over time maybe not.

Another very viable solution I'm a fan of to avoid $5/gallon for 100+ octane is alcohol/water injection. This is a VERY very effective detonation fighter. It not only decreases the combustion chamber charge like an intercooler, but also bumps the effective octane rating of the air/fuel mixture.

jtidiot was banned because this isn't the first time he's put is idiotic/ignorant 2 cents in. He's told people and this forum to "*** off" before. But yet he comes back.

Thanks for the link. I always like to learn as much as I can. When I'm ready for some form of boost all of the info I learn here, and questions I can ask, will be very helpfull towards getting it done right the 1st time without major F'ups.

BTW rice bit in my post was a dig on jtidiot. Not how I thought or felt.

constructive criticism is always best.
It is improper to "go off" on someone!
some people think that if you don't like something you should just say
"I don't like it", but this would be wrong! It is the polite thing to do though
Because if you like some thing why should you be limited to saying "I like it". People should be able to say wether or not they like or dislike something especially if "tell me what you think" is included.
Not everyone needs to agree with each other, and in-fact, diversity is what we are all about. Other wise we would all have the same car with the same mods ect. (amonst other things) I do believe that if you are to say something is A$$ then you should defend your standing. especially the "WHY?". I am new to the Maxima boards and Maximas, but I was not born yesterday. I have been on BBS's for over 14 years. and peoples opinions are what keeps us all coming back.
It reminds me of all those "what about these wheels" threads. If everyone hate it and says so... then it is ok. But if everyone likes them, then the one person that disagrees will get fried.
I believe you can disagree with anyone you choose at anytime you chose to.
But I bont belive that you should attack them. Arguements are constructive as long as they don't get out of hand. and please realize that everyone had a bad day too!

PEACE!

I caught the implication.

Glad to help...I hope you read ALL of it though not just that one page. It opened my eyes on lots of MYTHS I held as truths.

I don't have the money to WASTE on a turbocharger or supercharger that I'll use VERY sparingly, HOWEVER I'd like to have power ON DEMAND. SC/TC's wear on the engine everytime you hit boost and are a parasitic loss when you don't. Nitrous on the other hand only wears on the engine when you use it and isn't a parasitic loss as much as a TC/SC is, however that is somewhat debatable.

Anyways, nitrous is just ANOTHER form of FI, just like a TC vs. SC and the many different varities.

So, WHY WOULD YOU KNOCK NITROUS? Is it because it's the best-bang-for-your-buck mod? Is it because it's a viable option for those on a budget? Is it because it's the ONLY FI bolt-on option for cars like the 2K+ Maximas have? Is it because it produces power without the side-effects of a SC/TC? Is it because it WORKS better for MOST people then a SC/TC since it's not "on" all the time?

Or is it just because nitrous is the BEST option?

Not to flame you ICE, but Turbos aren't parasitic. Superchargers are, they take powa to make powa.....

Its all good, why did you have to ban a VA-guy? Let jttaylor back, he was fun to watch argue. Thanks for banning Shabbs
