I'm really feelin' the M45- I actually find it nicer than the Q-
same ballz and less dough- Have only seen two on the road since they came out- I hope the do not discontinue them- I would like to get one

3.0L Max needs mods to be as fast as 3.5L Max. Of course 3.0L Maxima can be modded out to be as fast and even faster than 3.5L but this is different story.

 

I could make my 3.0L much quicker than your 3.5L and for way cheaper without even winning the lottery.

 

Ok, isn't this getting old and pretty much pointless. I mean, I like my car. Can it be beaten? Yes. BUT I have had at least a year more to enjoy it than ANY 3.5 owner. To me that counts for something...otherwise I would never buy a car again since I would be constantly waiting for the next 'better' model of anything.

 

Point is...yes, 3.5L's are quicker stock, but don't have much room for smack talking because the 3.0's have WAY more modding potential and all of the quickest Max's on the org are 3.0's. So don't disrespect.

 

Don't start calling people out to street races. Track? fine, enjoy... We will nuke any street race challenge posts.

 

jjs... you have a good point. Within 6 months of purchasing a car, there are other cars out that can whip the snot out of them... look at the 2003 Maxima... I bought mine and only a few months later they came out with the EVOs and STis. If I was *that* worried about it, I would buy an EVO and claim ability to whoop all Maxes. It isn't a contest, rather, an attempt at recognition.

Yes, it would be cheaper to mod the 3.0L Max, and yes it would match (or beat) a stock 3.5L Max. But if you mod the 3.5L Max, then it negates the claim... that is what I was trying to say.

I thought 11sec 3.0L Max was very heavily modified.
Bottom line, you put more mods you will go faster and yes there are more mods for 3.0L Max.

You're missing the point. You keep saying "the fastest Max is a 3.0L"... yes, agreed. But that is ONLY because someone hasn't taken the time and $$$ to put a different cam, lighter rims with slicks, NOS, and parts such as the ones at http://store.yahoo.com/sgpracing-sto...tronics4.html, etc. into a 3.5L

The original statement was from bluebird talking about 5th Gen Maxes being slow... and my response was that my 5th Gen Max wasn't slow... he said something to the response of "throw a 200lb bag of sand in the trunk" as the difference, and my response was "I'll put a 200lb bag of sand in my Max and still whoop a 3.0L". We were talking stock to stock...

when you mod a stock 3.0L, yes it will potentially have a chance against a 3.5L... but the same goes to say that if you also mod the 3.5L you can go faster still.

 

3.5 has only been on the road for 2.5 years...how long has the 3.0 been on the road????

i am sure in 5 years you will see a lot of 3.5's with aroudn 300-350HP...what will you say about your 3.0's then???

Nothing, because there are 3.0's with over 400 HP (that's at the wheels, not the crank) right now.

If I had an old azz 3.0 pushing over 100K miles on it I would
definitly would have to modd the crap out of it just to stay interested- but then again the 3.0's have had nearly a decade
of Mod's developing- and our 5th gen 3.5 has had maybe 1 year-
since the 2k3 was a half year model-

 

And just a few of those very same years, things like this could be prowling the streets chewing up and spitting out even modded 3.5's.

Crap, if we took those types of 'visions' as gospel, we WOULD have SC'd Lincolns running around...but OHHHH look, best laid plans and ideas that never came to be, yet again.

 

jjs... that Dodge may very well be a reality (if the boys on the Daimler side would pipe down)... but that won't just spit out modded 3.5s, that thing will eat a Cobra alive!

 

I am seriously waiting to see what comes of this. That is the only reason I am hanging onto the AE...don't want to take a big depreciation hit on something now, have them release something even close to the concept and have to take another hit a year later.
