2k3 max VS 3000 GT

Ok guys... i was chillin today and a guy with a 3000GT came front of my car then my friends told him if he wants to race with a 2k3 max and he was like "ok but with money" i was like "hell no just for fun"
he was like "i'll put $100" i was like "i have no money" so... my 2 friends told "we will give you $50 and $50" i was like "ok lets try" so... the funny was that he has a VR-4 sign on the back but... no
VR-4 spoiler, no turbo gauge inside and my friends told him "you dont have a VR-4, open your hood" he was like "i dont want"... he was like "i'll be back in 1 minutes" BUT he never came back... what an idiot... so guys... can i beat this 3000GT (stock--manual)?

Yea, it sounds like that car was the SL (NA 222 hp) model. They usually run mid to high 15's with both the auto and stick. You can beat him...

I've seen 2 fake VR4s around here, it makes me ill . Easiest way to tell is see if it has a rear diff. No rear diff = no VR4. There are a handful of people who have dropped VR4 engines into their non-turbo 3/S, but I doubt this was one. With your mods, I think you would easily beat him.

I think the SL was Mitsubishi's biggest mistake. People laugh at 3000GT's because 9 in 10 of them are SL, if not more.

base SL has the same motor that is on Chrysler minivans lol. Do not race him without looking under his hood first.

3000gt sl's have just about the same specs as a 2k/2k1 but they are a tad heavier, that would be a close race, but a 2k2/2k3 would not be a race at all, auto or manual

why did your friends call his bluff out loud like that... He would've raced you I bet, had you not made him look like such a **** : / Anyways, it's funny how people underestimate the maxima. I guess this guy thought he'd psych you out with his bet threats... I think you would've torn him a new one so bad he'd sell his fake car.

If its a VR4, you'll get smoked... my girlfriend's dad has one and he took me for a ride in a couple times. The thing is FAST. 90 MPH never came up so fast! but otherwise, the 222 HP version is nothing to worry about. Only the 320 version (easily upgradable to around 400 HP) its a mean car and I almost bought one instead of Max... but I like Max plenty.

im just dissappointed that a car like that is front wheel drive (excluding the VR4). A car that looks that agressive should be at least rear wheel. Oh well, just my opinion i guess.

No WAY dude... a stick 3000gt n/a will run the 1/4 way faster than the automatic... I'll host a picture of my old dodge stealth... I could do almost 55mph in 1st gear in that car the first gear was so damn tall (it was an automatic Stealth ES (222hp))... The automatics are slugs off the line unless you have a stick shift, or a vr-4...

Oh, okay. I don't know a whole lot about these cars (Mitsubishi sucks, just my opinion) but I guess they should go better in a stick. I had one trying to play with me last year while I was on my CBR and I put about 15 bus lengths on him by the time I hit 3rd haha...

One of my friends has a 94 3000GT SL with a downpipe and cone intake. He thinks it's the fastest thing in the world. He still won't race me though...
