Runnning light replacement

I just did the fog light rewire (thanks for the great write up) but I still have the sock amber bulbs, i tried to replace them with clear bulbs, but the clears were not nearly as bright as the fogs (also stock) does anyone know what bulbs I can use so the running lamps/blinker bulbs will match my fog lights? Thanks in advance.

Just a reminder that clear side marker or blinker bulbs are illegal (yes, I know...big help I am).

i did not know that, so i noticed in your sig that you have yellow fogs, does that match the blinker light? I'm not so concerned with the color, but when just the fogs and the running lights are on I think the two should match.

No, the blinkers are amber. Can anyone else help this guy out?

Honestly, you can put any bulbs in you want. Tons of people on the org do. I don't know how many actually get pulled over for them, but it happens. Here in WA, the fog lights can be white or yellow, the front blinkers or side marker lights have to be amber, and the rear blinkers or fog lights have to be red or amber.

That should say the rear blinkers or SIDE MARKER lights...not FOG lights. Duh.

if you put a single piece of electrical tape over one of the nubs on the amber bulb it wont light up at all when you turn on your lights or fogs. they will only blink when you turn your indicator, hazards, or alarm on if you cover up the right nub. thats what i did and you dont have to worry about the lights matching now as much. i am guessing you have 2001 by your sig by the way.

STEALTH Running Lamps(FREE Mod)

Its in the sticky How-to

Eliminates the AMBER running lamp filament on the 1157 bulb used for a 2K-2K1 headlamp, but still uses the blinker filament. This mod makes the headlamps only produce white light until the blinker is activated, which looks better in my opinion especially with clear front corners.

1)Remove the bulb/socket from the headlamp housing.
2)Remove the bulb from the socket.
3)Place SMALL piece of black electrical tape over ONE "knub"(small contact on bottom of bulb).
4)Reinstall bulb into the socket.
5)Turn on hazards(or blinker with keys in ignition). If it flashes reinstall bulb/socket into the headlamp housing, if not, remove bulb from the socket and move the electrical tape to the other "knub".
