Would it make more sense to get the 2002 260hp maxima and make bigger monthly payments...

-or-

Save it all up and get the stillen S/C

I was thinking...stillen s/c is going to push me passed 260 but imagine the 2002 with an s/c?

All depends how much $$ you can spend

what really comes out for 02 and how quickly stillen can adapt the s/c for that engine. If the 5th gen auto tranny can't handle the s/c, who knows about the 02?

s/c that puppy now.

The other things to consider are: a SC will probably void the warantee, you are still driving an older car, the 4000-6000$ SC will not be worth as much when you sell it. The SC will certainly put you over the 260-275HP range (on a 5th gen).

I am personally waiting to see the price on a 2002 and trade in the 2000.

Hmmmm

S/C? void warranty

2002? bigger monthly payments...how much do you think they'll give 2000's as a trade in?

if the truth really is that the only thing different about the 2002 is the pathfinder crank ill do the whole dilly

but i went to lightspeed the other day and the dude was like...the pathfinder cranks are made for torque and then i told them...uhhh its the same series engine (VQ's)

so was he right?

might as well change the crank too if im gonna void my warranty with a s/c right?

and blow up my engine in the process?=D

I'm mulling this over too, but I'm thinking about NOS instead of the SC. I'm delaying my decision until I have firm details about the 3.5 VQ Max. I'm also trying to decide if I want to get larger wheels 17-18. I don't want to spend money and then trade it in in 6 months. So... I'll wait and see.

before the talk of the tranny TSB...

I got out of my 2001 GXE into my SE on Nissan's loss. IF THEY WEREN'T GOING TO TAKE THE LOSS, they only wanted to give me 18,500 for the car..when it was three months old...(2001 GXE with C+C).

So they're not real good with their TRADE IN value as opposed to their street retail. But what I said in another post prior to this...if the 5th gen can't even handle the 222 HP on the tranny, what makes you think Nissan can do good enough within only ONE YEAR to make a tranny that can handle 260 HP? Wait for them to perfect the tranny you have NOW before trusting their future trannies with more power. That's just my opinion.
