Hey, guys..I need help with something:
To be brief, my rear Eibachs have settled to the point that the car is uneven again...nose a tad higher than the rear, much as when it was stock -except now it's of course lower overall.
While I could live with this from a purely aesthetics standpoint, the real functional issue is that now, when loaded with four people, the rear suspension is getting on the bumpstops ocassionally, thus the overall ride quality is suffering, -as you can imagine.
Options:
a) buy H&Rs ang so thru the whole instalation routine on all four corners
b) buy H&Rs and install the new H&Rs on the rear only now to save some installation moolah....with my lousy back, I'm not doing that one again! Save the front springs for if/when the front Eibachs eventially settle as well.
c) Reinstall the OEM rears after cutting enough coil to get exactly a .9" inch drop from OEM height, about .6" less than is dropped today.
BTW, on this last....the exact qty of spring to cut is easy. Most people dont know how to do this but the trick is to measure/mark how much of the coil needs to be cut while the spring is installed and the car on the ground with the suspension bearing the weight as it does when it's riding. If 1" drop is equal to -example- three quarters of a coil, that's what you cut, no more, no less.
And, this will work ONLY on the rear springs which are NOT location-sensitive on the top mount.
What would you do?
