Hotshot headers out for the Altima 3.5

Here's the thread

http://www.altimas.net/forum/showthr...hreadid=120667

They have two versions, a street legal and a race one selling at $650 and $590. The street legal ones include a cat.

SWA, what's the story for the Max's?

The maxima headers should be out before too long. I don't have an exact date, but I will contact our rep at HotShot on Monday and try to find out when the headers for the maxima will be out.

So, you're going to be selling both the Stillen and Hotshot? What would you recommend?

The truth will be in the dynos I suppose. Personally, I don't trust Stillen's advertised dyno #s until I see third party confirmation. If I had the money to spend right now without knowing dyno results, I'd get the Hotshot Headers.

They are both very high quality products. Like I said, I'm not 100% sure when they are coming out, but I will find out for you guys.

Well, based on company reputation alone, we know they will both make good products. The difference will come down to price (IMHO) and HP numbers.

Based on the released Stillen number of 16HP and the number HotShot has told SW but not released or posted it looks like the HS product should be better in both price and HP.

Hopefully by January we will have a good deal of info from 3rd parties on both of these and maybe even OBX will have done something by then.
It's nice to see a light at the end of the tunnel.

Who knows there my even be a SC by next summer.

Does it seem odd to anyone else that all four sets of headers are coming out in about the same time? Soon the OBX headers will be released.

I bet these Altima Headers will fit the Maxima.

That's good new about OBX.

If they don't fit ours perfect they should go right in a 6th gen.

The OBX headers are expected to be the cheapest of the bunch at about $500 but they will be for the VQ30. If HS is going to make us wait another year on the Maxima headers I might just get the Alti headers and make the bastards fit.

Also there will be a HUGE weight difference between headers and the OEM exhaust manifold and precat setup. I have a extra full set that I need to weigh but I suspect the manifolds, precats and y pipe weigh about 40 pounds.

It looks like word got out that one of the companies was about to release their headers and the other companies got worried and decided to take pre orders on their not so complete product. I'm thinking it was stillen who got caught with their pants down.

Depends on if you relocate the O2 sensor or not...

I've had a problem with internet access the last couple of days. Did Hotshot ever say anything about the headers for us?

I say we all give HS a call. And while they're on the phone ask them will the Alti 3.5 headers fit the 2k2-2k3 Max.

not sure they will since the 3.5 Altima has some sort of a quasi dual exhaust setup (like the 6th Gen does).

This is good news! Please keep us updated...

I'm wondering though, between the 2 versions, the only difference is whether a cat is included right? I mean the headers are all the same, and the y-pipe is still the same length on both right?

The reason I think it will have fitment probs is because it's a different platform, chassis wise. The dual setup, I believe, starts after the main cat. "quasi" being 2 Y's or a dual piped muffler. I haven't see under a 6th gen or a 3.5 Alty yet, maybe someone could shed some light on this for us, I'd like to know if they have an H setup or not.

Being that chassis is different, and as tight as the exhaust piping path is, a difference of a 1/2" would make a big deal in how everything lines up.

HotShot does have plans on producing these headers. They have the design more or less complete. We will be sending them a 3.5 max for final test fitting within the next 2-3 weeks.
