How to remove the Hood Liner ??

Hey .org members,

Tried to clean my windshield tonight when i noticed only the passenger side nozzle squirting. After some troubleshooting, the tube on the driverside is pinched and feels permanently pinched and the cause..my OTTO FSTB.

I believe I need to replace the tubing, but first, I need to know how to remove the hood lining's round tabs (or clips) without breaking them. Tried to pull, but don't want to snap them and then myself later.. hah.

Anyway, need to know if I tug lightly or tug with force to remove those round tabs?? or is there another way around it??

Thanks in advance.. !

I bet your tube does not need replacing. The Courtesy FSTB that I have does the same thing. I re-routed the line and to pull those tabs off I just used a pair of wire cutters. Just be careful not to cut through. I slid the wire cutters under the tab and rocked it back and forth till it came out. There is also a hook to hold the line on the underside of the hood that you might have to remove.

this just happened to me with my custom maxima bar.
If it is pinching the tube then it is probably pressing on your hood too!
is your bar adjustable?
if so adjust 3 spins out on the passenger side and 3 spins in on the driver side !

foodmanry;

you are absolutely right.. the tubing is not in need of replacing.. I've got a few cuts from the edge of the lining, but have re-routed the tube by removing the bottom tab (close to the tube/nozzle on driver side).

All is working..! Thanks much!

Davidme;

no, the OTTO bar i have only has one screw on each end of the bar, pretty much it's unadjustable. I wish i could adjust it..

I've actually cut out a small portion of the hood lining where the Bar touches by sprinklying (sp?) baby powder (an .ORG members idea) on the bar and closed the hood..Opening up the hood will show where the bar touches. So that plus re-routing the windowwasher tubing, it's all working fine.

Thanks for the input!
