My friend drives a maxima with that yellow bulb on that says "o/d off". I always figured that if the bulb is on than the overdrive is off but he started arguing with me today about it.

So when the light is on is overdirve on or not?

when the yellow light is on, the O/D is off( it says it right there: O/D off)

you can even prove it too him and tell him to go 70 miles per hour and then press it, the rpm will go up
