Remove the entire intake manifold. DO not waste your time trying to separate the elbow from the plenum. Remove it all as one piece and it will make things easier.

You actually have to remove the entire intake manifold on 2k3???????
2k you can get to the coils and plugs (using an extension and magnetic pickup tool) since the coils are exposed between plenum runners...

Why are you replacing the plugs on an 03 anyway? Is there something out there that will make a difference? I'm curious because I thought of changing mine also... as long as it will be worth it.

!!!!!!!!
Holy cripes!
Does the FSM even say to remove the intake manifold? Heh, wouldn't you need some new intake manifold gaskets every time you change the plugs?

Well one reason is forced induction, and another is the better spark ability (but less overall mileage useage) of copper plugs.

For normal driving, sure, but for boosted applications Use any you want (same size/format) and same temperature rating, unless you go forced induction/N2O. In that case, you'd want to go at least one step (maybe two) colder plugs...
