Any recommendation on best shocks?

I'm debating whether if I should get better shocks than the stock on my car since I like how it handles on turns and cornering but I hate that basketball bouncy when it hit on bad pavements. Any recommendation what brand of shocks I should get. I wasn't sure if Blisten or Koni would be good? I'm open to suggestions

Excellent question/point. I too am satisfiled with the overall ride and drive of my car now that I have the FSTB and RSB. My GLE actually remains pretty flat up to the limit of its turanzas. I was very suprised! Like you the only thing I wish for is more bounce control. The shocks just don't seem up to the task. I've scanned the stickies and have not found any real good info on a better replacement shock/strut assembly. I don't want to change the springs or anything else, just the shocks. Oh yea, the front SB could be a little stiffer to improve turn-in.

i think kyb agx adjustables are available for your car fanatic. they might need a lil modding but i know people that have them. i've heard the kyb gr2's are good too. i'm waiting on some adjustables for the 2k2-2k3's to come out..

Kby agx adjustables? I haven't heard of one of those , is that adjust the valve of the oil flow to the shock how stiff or firm you want it?

If you have stock springs, i think the KYB GR-2s will be good enough. Other adjustable shocks, such as koni and kyb agx, they are the best for lowering springs. If you want to get lower in the future, i suggest u get the Kyb agx or Koni(if u have money). the good thing about koni is, it is not only can adjust the rebound rate, it can also adjust the height of your car, i think u can lower ur car about 1/2 to 1 inch. u can't go wrong with Koni's performance.

hope this helps

I was out looking at tirerack.com today and saw that they have Koni sport shocks for around $130 each. I was actually looking for the KYB GR-2 for my 03 SE, but the only shocks the site showed that fit my 03 max were the Konis. I couldn't tell you if that's a good price or not...

Yep, you have to remove the rear struts every time you want to adjust them. The front can be done on car.

Another thing that most people do not realize, the Koni is only an insert. You have to modify the factory strut housing to make them work.

EGADS!!! Sounds like it's a pain to do if i wanted to adjust the shocks. As for Koni, I didn't know that you have to modify the strut housing. I was checking out with Koni.com, their website is useless for info.

I have KYB GR-2's on my '03 SE. Perfect strut for what you're looking for. Took the floaty feel out of bumps, and only slightly stiffened the overall ride.

Highly recommend them for anyone wanting to keep a near stock ride without the float over dips/bumps

Part Numbers: 334265, 334266, 341271 x 2 (rears)

I got them new on eBay for $279 (shipped price)

Just replaced factory equipment with a set of kyb gr2's shocks and struts, WOW what a difference in handling, its not the same car. Ride quality is a little rougher but for the difference in body roll and stability on all cornering is great, especially if you like to occasionally (LOL) take it to the limit. I would definitely recommend this mod.
