Clearing up headlight housings

Question for you guys, after a few years the clearness of the headlight housings isn't as good as before. I've done the wet sand thing on other cars, but wondered what you recommend for the max. Plastic polish maybe?

Thanks

Vito

All I use is Meguiars #26 wax. Two applications and my headlights look new.

Do you have 2K2-2K3 HID headlights?

Use 3M PLASTIC POLISH.. Theres a TSB on it in the Altima.net forums... Just follow those procedures.. Mine are good as new

Q. for you guys. My HID headlights look fine off, but when they are on @ night, you can see a sort of white haze on the lens, and I'm not sure if its on the inside or outside. I have of course tried numerous products to clean the outside. Is the haze you guys are referring to some sort of dis-coloration on the outside of the headlight? I'm afraid that this 3M product might scratch up the headlight.

the plastic polish wont scratch up your headlights.. I've used them for a long time now. And they are fine.. the dealer also uses them for the same problem.

I think there is a TSB for the haze problem, though I'm not sure what the dealer does to clear it up...

I think the haze is on the inside, I've actually buffed mine with a polisher

so is the haze inside or out?

the dealer says its "typical wear and tear" and doesnt cover it. The TSB is for their reference on how to get rid of it. If its on the inside that would indicate a moisture leak.. which is grounds for anyone with warranty to replace.
