I guess what i'm getting at is, a battery a month or so is a lot of batteries isn't it? i mean i used to have a prestige alarm with auto-start and stuff on my last car and that battery lasted years. I guess the viper alarm is a little more higher-tech so i guess that equals more juice.

It depends on which features you are using on the remote. if you are using vibrate/light/beep at the same time you will go through toms of batteries. Just stick with the beep or vibrate and they should last you a while.

1 month or else for me too.

But I live in a busy street and sometimes I have my car parked outside so it pages me quite often because of the Proximity sensors.

I only use beep, no light or vibe.

1-1.5 no vibrate or back light. On a side note fiper is coming out with a 791xv with a two new remotes. One with an lcd screen and blue casing. And a small secondary remote w/o 2 way feature. I do not know if the remotes will be backwards compatable.
