I usuallly don't have MAXIMA problems, but today I drive to work no problems , drive to lunch no problems , time to get off at 5:00 ...... my car is shaking like a CRACKHEAD!! CHECK ENGINE SOON!! What is going on? So, I hit the gas its really shaking and skipping.Do I take the highway and get stranded Hell No!! I take the shortcut home.I checked the fluids , look for loose wires, nothing.Maybe its time for a tune up ? 87000 miles? Two hours later, crank her up damn car is running like nothing ever happen......anybody got a clue?

 

Go to your local Autoparts store and get the code from the check engine light.

Sounds like either a coil pack or an injector decided not to fire for some odd reason. Strange that it's running fine now, those problems are a b1tch to figure out.

 

Sometime the car will mis a curcuit when started, especially if you put it in gear befor it is done booting up (all the idiod lights are done flashing). If that happens all you have to do is shut it down wait a few seconds and restart and then you will be fine. Like your car did. I am still curious what codes your car thru.
