I have noticed that the I30's front passenger window is also auto up and down. Has anyone heard if this can be easily added to the Maxima?

I bought the master window switch (driver's door) for an I30 and installed it, thinking I could get Auto up and down for the passenger window.
I cooked the switch (which cost about 80 bucks).
So...I would say this can't be done.

thanks for posting this. I know a lot of us were interested in this, and I was eventually going to end up buying an i30 switch myself to try the same. I wasn't sure if the auto/voltatge-sensing circuitry was in the switch or some place else.

i really need to get a hold of a wiring diagram for this car!

When I cooked the switch, I believe I only burnt out one run on the PC board, and maybe a diode or something that I could get at a Radio Shack. If there is a wiring diagram available, I think the harness only needs to have a couple of wires swithced around to work with the infiniti switch. I can't believe that the motors in the doors have anything to do with the Auto feature.

I am not sure about this but I think there might be some kind of "load limiter" in the motor or somewhere. It would be interesting to add this feature to our cars...but Infiniti parts are high..and I think it could be done but would probably end up costing at least $200. Just a guess.

I got auto up down on all my windows! I added the SmartWindows module to my Clifford alarm. I decided to have both front and rear windows operated by the alarm cause I like to know that all my windows close when my car locks. It will cost around $150 per installed, but it gives you auto up/down on the windows that it is installed on. Just an option.

Woa! $150 per window? If that is right it's a little steep. I think I could find something more constructive to mod with that $600.
