Heated mirrors???

Is it true that some max's have heated mirrors? I have a 2k SE with what I thought was every option except traction. I've been interested in Max's for a year now, and I just now read something about heated mirrors. Anyone have this feature?? Does it work??

2002 SE without the leather package and it has it. It works great, especially up in Toronto Canada where stuff freezes over pretty good.

I also had it on my '99 Max without the leather package.

My Dad's max has it. I think it comes with either the meridian package or the comfort & convinience package (I can't spell).

Hey Breadman40,

I've a 2000 SE, i believe all 5th Gen's (even GXE's have Heated Mirrors) they heat up when the Rear Defogger is activated .. and YES it works wonders!

My 2000 SE has heated mirror, tested it a few days ago and it definitely gets warm, but only the driver side mirror. Just bought the car about a month ago and am curious how effective it will be during the very cold Winnipeg Manitoba Canada winter.

For 2000 at least, I think it came with meridian... I have SE w/ C&C and don't have the heated mirrors...

Dannodotdom,

I live in Vancouver so Winters aren't to harsh. For us with the occasional snowfall, it works enough for me.
you should get your passenger side mirror checked out...

Works really well but if the mirror is packed with snow don't expect it to do much.

who cares about snow, it works really well after freezing rain... you know, the bulletproof kind that takes an hour to scrape. I start the car, put on all the defrosters (including mirror) then go back in for a few minutes and let the car melt. I haven't had to scrape a mirror (which is nearly impossible to do anyway) since April 2002

It turns out I do have heated mirrors!!!!!!! There isn't a switch for it, but they come on when I put the rear defroster on. Both sides work. Its always fun when you discover something that you didn't know you had!!!!!!!

Gotta check if mine has it.
I don't have heated seats so I'm not sure if the mirrors will be heated.
