TSB upgrade / ECU reset question

I just got back from the dealer who performed the lack of power TSB on my 03 SE..... WHAT A DIFFERENCE!!!! If you have an 02 or an 03 you have GOT to get this done. What will happen if I need to reset my ECU at some point in the future??? Will the new upgrade be lost??? Thanks.

No, your upgrade won't be lost. The upgrade is stored in the EEPROM of the ECU. The "learned" settings are stored in RAM, which is battery-backed-up. The ECU reset procedure just basically clears the RAM in the ECU.

So should everyone get the "lack of powr" TSB done? I mean my car doesn't seem to be lacking in power but who knows, maybe it is and i just don't realize it.

does not apply to 2k or 2k1. we used throttle cables while the update for 2k2 and 2k3 is for the drive by wire system which receives input from the ecu.

THIS IS WHY YOU WANNA GET IT DONE!!!!

1. Maybe a new, "Better" MAF.
2. ECU software upgrade.
3. Its free.
4. Did i say "UPGRADE" ?
5. why would you not want your car to at least have free upgraded software in their ECU ?
5. BETTER FOR FREE ? HELL YES !!!!
6. I got it done on my 03 se and could tell a difference driving off the lot
7. my gfriend noticed a difference and she did not even know I had it done

na ... go down there and hand them this

http://maxima.theowensfamily.com/tsb/ntb03-023.pdf

its harder for them to say no to you in person if they feel so inclined to do so. If they do, press them. If still no... go to a different dealer
