Check my new wheels...

I was able to convince the wife that the stock Potenzas were going to kill me, so...

http://www.wheelmax.com/exel/mimi/mimi.htm

They are the gunmetal with polished lip.

WheelMax was having such a big sale, wheels AND tires ended up costing about what just a set of tires would cost, plus free shipping and they threw in the tuner lugs .

I went with 235/45/17 so I at least pick up a little width. Got "Ventus" tires which are made by Hankook...a couple of people have told me they are decent enough tires, **** they can't be worse than stock!!

Now I'm just waiting on brown .

Be sure to post some pics when you get them mounted. I'm considering that size tire as well, so I'm curious to see how they look (size-wise). Do you have your car lowered?

No, but I would like to at least go as low as Eibach eventually...on other cars I've had Intrax (Miata), Jamex (current Miata), Suspension Techniques (Supra Turbo and SE-R), and Eibach (Shelby Daytona) and I was by far the most impressed with the Eibachs. They didn't lower as much as the other brands but the ride was terrific

How did you convince your wife? I need the exact words, please.

Nice looking wheels. I second the post about posting pictures when they're mounted.

...actually she didn't put up much of a fight. I had to schmooze her a lot more when I was buying the Jackson Racing supercharger for my Miata last year...she REALLY didn't see the point of that

At least with these I could point out how much stock replacement rubber would be, and it really did make the wheel/tire package look like a deal (which it was - about $400 cheaper than I could find the next best deal on the same pkg. )
