SLIP TCS Service Light - Cam Shaft Sensor out?
I have a 2002 Maxima. Friday evening the SLIP, TCS, and Service Engine light came on as I started the car. It took a couple of turns to strart, but the engine eventually started; the 3 lights stayed on.
I immediately drove the car to a Nissan dealer, and left the car on Friday night. The Saturday service techs were unable to diagnose the problem, or even get the car to start. The dealership (Neil Huffman Nissan in Louisville, KY) called me today with the diagnosis "cam shaft sensor is out - needs to be replaced" Does this make sense? The cost is approx $250 to replace the sensor.
Any advice? The car has 39K miles, is an automatic, and I've maintained all schedule service.
Thanks in advance.
