Brake pain,,yet again

i got the slotted/dimpled rotors from the GD, last year. i think they have about 20k on em. they are causing judder already. i am so sick of doing the brakes. what are the brake options these days? i am thinking the slotted ones can't be turned down???

i just want some brakes that will last more than 20K...i almost went to the nissan dealership and bought the stock ones...

help

there are a few people that went with Brembo blanks with no issues of warping that i know of. what kind of pads did you put with the slotted and do you tighten the lug nuts yourself or is it down by a shop?

i used the AXXIS metal masters. when i brake at high speeds, it feels like the steering will fall off. at slower speeds, there is a lot of jerk. the lug nuts were done by discount tire, with the torque wrench...

thanks

Slotted can be cut, I had my power slot rotors turned. The only good option is a big brake kit but thats big bucks. There is a thread where a person reported brembo blanks warping faster than stock.

Face it our rotors are undersized for our driving.

i took it to the local brake place and he said the machine would eat the rotors, since they have slots. from where did you get them turned? on my 94, i had the ray bestos ( SP ). they were awesome. i know ray makes them for 2K also. i might just go with those. 70 some per rotor

who told you this as its NOT true!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I got my zinc plated powerslot rotors turned with no problems from a local shop at $8 each.

The slots don't do anything to the lathe, its just less to cut. I did have to clean the slots up with a dremel and they are not as deep as they used to be of course.

Shops lying to you cuz they want you to buy new rotors.

yes, since the old pads have the 'grooves/bite' of the old rotors. so for a perfect fit and alignment, you want to change them.

SSBC 2 piston w/ 13" rotor ?

Stainless Steel Brake Co. Forget their website, but I know they have an affordable 2 piston upgrade kit. Not 4 piston stopping power, but better than stock size w/ metallic pads.

Replace the pads at the same time you do the rotors.
